You'll hear about separating oral meds from the potassium binders, sodium polystyrene sulfonate (Kayexalate, etc) and patiromer (Veltassa).

The concern is that these potassium binders could bind to other oral meds...and decrease their absorption.

The latest Veltassa labeling advises to give other oral meds at least 3 hours before or 3 hours after patiromer.
